Coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll (since 1997) has led the Spartans from the bottom of the Big Ten to a conference championship in 2001 and the NCAA regionals each year since 1999.

Michigan State fired a 1-under total to finish third at the spring 2020 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans, LA.  The Spartans posted consistent scores 292-293-290 to lock down third in the 15-team tournament. Florida shot 23-under and cruised to a 16-stroke win over runner-up Miami. The Spartans took third, Denver claimed fourth and Houston in fifth filled out the top five. The course played to par 73, 6,336 yards with an average 18-hole score of 75.2 strokes. Players recorded 55 sub-par rounds over 54 holes.

MSU's Paz Marfa Sans tied for 10th at 3-under 216 (70-73-73). Allyson Geer-Park (75-76-68=219) and Valery Plata (75-70-74=219) tied for 19th at even par.

Host Michigan State couldn't recover from a second-round 303, taking seventh and missing nationals by three strokes in the 2019 NCAA D-1 East Lansing Regional. The defending champion Spartans finished fifth, two shots out of a tie for second, in the weather-shortened 2019 Big Ten Conference Championship.

Michigan State finished eighth in the 2018 NCAA D-1 Austin Regional, and won the Big Ten Conference Championship.

Michigan State placed 19th at the 2017 NCAA Championship, third in the NCAA D-I Athens Regionals, and won the Big Ten Championship.

Michigan State placed 11th in the 2016 NCAA D-I Stanford Regional, and tied for ninth in the Big Ten Conference Championship.

Michigan State placed fourth in the 2015 Big Ten Conference Championship.

Michigan State tied for 20th in the 2014 NCAA Championship, fifth at the NCAA D-I West Regional, and second in the Big Ten Conference Championship.

In 2013, Michigan State tied for ninth in the NCAA Championship, eighth in the NCAA D-I Central Regional, and won the Big Ten Championship.

Michigan State finished 20th in the 2012 NCAA Championship, tied for sixth at the NCAA D1 East Regional, and led wire-to-wire in capturing the Big Ten Conference Championship.

The Spartans won the 2011 Big Ten Conference Championship.

 

Michigan State finished 10th in the 2010 NCAA Central Regional, and second in the Big Ten tournament.

 

Michigan State tied for 13th at the 2009 NCAA Championship. The Spartans took fifth in the 2009 NCAA Division I Central Regional , and second at the Big Tens.

The Spartans posted top-20 finishes at the 2005 and 2007 NCAA Championship.

Slobodnik-Stoll was named Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2007 and Regional Coach of the Year in 1999.

As Stacy Slobodnik, she was captain of the 1993 and 1994 Michigan State teams and graduated (communications, 1994) before playing one year on the Future’s Tour. She returned to MSU as assistant women’s coach from 1995-97.

Slobodnik-Stoll was Michigan State Amateur Champion in 1996 and 1998, and she qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur in 1994, 1996, 1998 and 2001. She earned a master’s degree (sports administration, 1999) from MSU.

School Owned Course: The University’s Forest Akers Golf Courses, there are two 18-hole championship layouts.

Practice Facilities: In 2016 Michigan State University opened the Lasch Family Golf Center, a 15,000-square-foot home of the MSU mens and womens golf teams. The $6 million facility includes an indoor practice area, student-athlete lounge, mens and womens locker rooms, coaches offices, video room, weight room and a kitchen area featuring nutrition/hydration stations
