Coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll (since 1997) has led the Spartans from the bottom of the Big Ten to a conference championship in 2001 and the NCAA regionals each year since 1999.
Michigan State fired a 1-under total to finish third at the spring 2020 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans, LA. The Spartans posted consistent scores 292-293-290 to lock down third in the 15-team tournament. Florida shot 23-under and cruised to a 16-stroke win over runner-up Miami. The Spartans took third, Denver claimed fourth and Houston in fifth filled out the top five. The course played to par 73, 6,336 yards with an average 18-hole score of 75.2 strokes. Players recorded 55 sub-par rounds over 54 holes.
MSU's Paz Marfa Sans tied for 10th at 3-under 216 (70-73-73). Allyson Geer-Park (75-76-68=219) and Valery Plata (75-70-74=219) tied for 19th at even par.

Host Michigan State couldn't recover from a second-round 303, taking seventh and missing nationals by three strokes in the 2019 NCAA D-1 East Lansing Regional. Slobodnik-Stoll was named Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2007 and Regional Coach of the Year in 1999.
As Stacy Slobodnik, she was captain of the 1993 and 1994 Michigan State teams and graduated (communications, 1994) before playing one year on the Future’s Tour. She returned to MSU as assistant women’s coach from 1995-97.
Slobodnik-Stoll was Michigan State Amateur Champion in 1996 and 1998, and she qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur in 1994, 1996, 1998 and 2001. She earned a master’s degree (sports administration, 1999) from MSU.
