Coach Jack Arena (since 1994) has also been men’s hockey coach at Amherst since 1984. He was an outstanding hockey player at Amherst before graduating in 1983.

The Amherst Mammouths shot 295-315 and finished sixth, 13 strokes out of fourth, in the fall 2019-20 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Qualifier at Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayman, MD. Williams edged Tufts by two shots for the title, and the win gives Williams hosting rights for the spring championship. Hamilton was third and Trinity fourth. Those top four teams qualified for the spring NESCAC championship competing for the berth to the NCAA D-III Championship. The course was par 72, measuring 6,505 yards and produced an average 18-hole score of 77.4 strokes.

Amherst's Cameron Clark (73-77=150) tied for 12th, and Will Lonnquist (72-79=151) was 18th.

Amherst finished sixth in the fall 2018-19 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Qualifier.

Amherst finished fourth in the fall 2017-18 NESCAC qualifier and advanced to the spring 2018 NESCAC Championship with Trinity, Williams and Tufts. Trinity won the 2018 Spring NESCAC Championship and the berth to the NCAA D-III Championship.

Amherst placed third to advance to spring in the fall 2016-17 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Qualifier. The Mammoths finished fourth in the spring 2017 NESCAC Championship.

Amherst College finished sixth of 14 in the fall 2015-16 East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Division III Championship, and third in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Qualifier.

Amherst finished seventh in the fall 2014-15 NESCAC qualifier and 12th in the fall 2014-15 ECAC D-III New England Championship.

Amherst finished fourth at the 2014 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship.

Amherst claimed eighth in the fall 2013 East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Division III Championship, and third in the NESCAC Qualifier.

Amherst tied for eighth in the fall 2012-13 ECAC Division III New England Championship, and fifth in the fall 2012-13 NESCAC Qualifier.
