Coach Brent Nicoson (since 2006) is a former UIndy player from 1992-94. He was team captain in 1994. U of I has won 15 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) championships, and the program has been represented in 17 NCAA D-II tournaments since 1985.
In the final event of the shortened spring 2020 season, the Indianapolis Greyhounds shot 297-284 to finish second at the Warrior Vegas Invitational at Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nev. Host Winona State placed four individuals in the top 10 and edged the runner-up Greyhounds by two strokes. Sioux Falls was 15 further back in third in the 11-team tournament. The course was par 72, 7,152 yards and yielded an 18-hole scoring average of 78.8 strokes. Winds pushed first-round scores up about three shots.
UIndy's Erik Edwards (70-71=141) and Oliver Mast (71-70=141) tied for second.

Uindy finished a shot out of first in the 54-hole stroke-play part of the 2019 Great Lake Valley Conference (GLVC) Championship. #2-seed UIndy defeated #3-seed Bellarmine in the semi-final and lost to #4-seed Maryville in a total-score tie-breaker for the GLVC title.
UIndy tied for fifth in stroke play and advanced to medal/match in the 20-team 2018 NCAA D-II Championship. The #5-seed Greyhounds lost their first-round match 3.5 - 1.5 to #4-seed West Florida. Lynn defeated West Florida for the D-II title.
UIndy matched even par for three days and won the 20-team 2018 NCAA D-II Central/Midwest Regional.

The #2-seed UIndy defeated #3-seed Bellarmine 3-2 in the semi-final and lost to #1-seed UMSL 4-1 for the 2016 GLVC title.
UIndy finished 14th of 20 teams in the 54-hole stroke-play part of the 2015 NCAA D-II Championship. The Greyhounds won a playoff with Minnesota State for fifth place and the final spot to advance in the 20-team 2015 NCAA D-II Central/Midwest Regional.

Nicoson has multiple GLVC Coach of the Year honors.
Nicoson continues to compete and has qualified for the Indiana Open six times.
Nicoson graduated in 1994 from University of Indianapolis with a degree in business administration and a 3.45 GPA. He was a member of the Dean’s List and the Honor Roll.
