Emily Kuhfeld was named Georgia Southern first-ever women's golf coach in July 2014. She spent the previous three seasons as assistant coach at Texas Tech University. Kuhfeld competed at Ohio State where she earned All-Big-Ten honors and was team captain in 2004-05. She competed two years on the Futures Tour following graduation.

The Georgia Board of Regents voted on March 7, 2017 to approve the consolidation of Armstrong State University with Georgia Southern University, and that Armstrong State athletics would end following the 2016-17 athletic year.

Georgia Southern placed third, five strokes out of first, in the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Championship at LPGA International's Hills Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. South Alabama won its first conference title in 22 years, edging runner-up Texas State by three strokes. Weather was ideal at the par 72, 6,050-yard course, where the average 18-hole score of 76.2 strokes.

GSU's Ella Ofstedahl won the Sun Belt medal by one stroke with a 3-under 213 (73-71-69). Ansley Bowman tied for seventh (71-74-76=221).

Georgia Southern finished third in the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Championship, eighth in 2017 and fourth in 2016.

Practice Facilities: The Ramsey-Bennett Golf Center a 25-acre facility consisting of a team clubhouse, an indoor golf performance center, a dedicated practice putting green, a three-green short-game area, a two-tiered practice tee, a driving range and three practice holes.
