Bryan Bessinger was named head golf coach in September 2019. He served the previous two seasons as assistant coach at Webber International. Bessinger earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from USC Aiken. He graduated in 2002 with a focus in marketing and golf course services. While at Webber International, he earned his masters of business administration with a concentration in sport business management in 2019.
South Carolina Beaufort narrowly made the cut and finished 16th in the 2019 NAIA Championship at Lincoln Park Golf Club in Oklahoma City, Okla. British Columbia won its third national title this decade, grabbing the lead after two rounds and holding on to beat runner-up Keiser University by five strokes. Rounding out the top five teams were SCAD Savannah in third, Oklahoma City in fourth and University of Cumberlands in fifth. Conditions were windy at the par 72, 6,015-yard course, where the average score was 78.3 strokes.
Blanca Porta tied for 34th (78-78-72-74=302) to pace the Sand Sharks.
South Carolina Beaufort shot 317-316-304 to finish fourth in the 2019 Sun Conference Championship at PGA National's Fazio Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Keiser University won its fourth Sun title in five years, beating runner-up SCAD Savannah by 11 strokes. Southeastern University placed third in the nine-school tournament. The course was par 72, measuring 5,920 yards and produced an average 18-hole score of 83.1 strokes.
Vanessa Schloo led the Sand Sharks, tying for ninth (76-78-76=230). Blanca Porta tied for 12th (79-77-76=232).
South Carolina Beaufort finished sixth in the 2018 NAIA Championship, and second in the Sun Conference Championship. The Sand Sharks tied for eighth in the 2016 NAIA Championship, and second in the Sun Conference Championship.
The Sand Sharks tied for ninth in the 2015 NAIA Championship, and placed third in the Sun Conference Championship.
South Carolina-Beaufort competed but failed to make the 54-hole cut (finishing 21st overall) in the 2014 NAIA Championship, and took second in the Sun Conference Championship.
South Carolina-Beaufort claimed 15th in the 2013 NAIA Championship, and third in the Sun Conference Championship.
USCB tied for 15th in the 2012 NAIA Championship, and tied for third in the Sun Conference Championship. The Sharks claimed 18th at the 2011 NAIA Championship and took seventh in 2010.
