Aaron Watkins was named head golf coach in July 2019. He was a three-time All-American competing for UC and played professionally for two years following graduation. Watkins was a UC graduate assistant in 2015-16.

University of the Cumberlands shot 304-299-301-300 to finish fifth in the 2019 NAIA Championship at Lincoln Park Golf Club in Oklahoma City, Okla. British Columbia won its third national title this decade, grabbing the lead after two rounds and holding on to beat runner-up Keiser University by five strokes. Rounding out the top five teams were SCAD Savannah in third, Oklahoma City in fourth and University of Cumberlands in fifth. Conditions were windy at the par 72, 6,015-yard course, where the average score was 78.3 strokes.

Carlee Shoemaker tied for 13th (72-75-74-72=293) and Lucia Pena tied for 34th (77-76-73-76=302) to lead the Patriots.

Cumberlands notched its eighth consecutive conference title, rolling to victory at the 2019 Mid South Conference Championship at Bowling Green Country Club in Bowling Green, Ky. The Patriots, down five strokes after the first round, rallied on Day 2 and went on to win, beating runner-up Pikeville by 20 strokes. Cumberland and Lindsey Wilson tied for third. The course was par 72, measuring 5,929 yards and produced an average 18-hole score of 84.3 strokes.

The Patriots had four players among the top 10, led by Mid South medalist Carlee Shoemaker, who shot an 11-over 227 (79-75-73) to win by two strokes. Brianna Baird was fifth (78-77-80=235) and Lucia Pena took sixth (79-78-79=236).

The Cumberlands placed eighth in the 2018 NAIA Championship, and won the Mid South Conference Championship. The Patriots placed 12th in the 2017 NAIA Championship, and won the Mid-South Conference Championship.

The Cumberlands tied for fourth in the 2016 NAIA Championship, and won the Mid-South Conference Championship.

The Patriots placed fifth in the 2015 NAIA Championship, and won the Mid South Conference Championship.

Cumberlands claimed fifth in the 2014 NAIA Championship, and won the Mid South Conference Championship. In 2013, The Cumberlands placed 10th in the NAIA Championship, and won the Mid South Conference Championship.  

The Cumberlands claimed 14th in the 2012 NAIA Championship, and won the Mid South Mid South Conference Championship. The Patriots finished second in the 2010 and 2011 Mid South Conference Championship, and fourth in 2009.
