Kate Schanuel was named Georgetown head coach in July 2017. She spent the previous seven years as head coach at Towson University. Schanuel was a volunteer assistant at Georgetown in 2008-09. She earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference and All-Academic honors at the University of Maryland, graduating in 2007 with a degree in kinesiology. Schanuel competed on the LPGA Futures Tour following graduation.
The Big East Conference underwent a membership change on July 1, 2013 with seven non-football schools (including Georgetown) remaining in the Big East joined by Butler, Creighton and Xavier.
Georgetown University held third place after each round in the fall 2018-19 UD Blue Hen Invitational at Rehoboth Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del. Seton Hall took sole possesion of the lead with second-round 292 and won by three strokes over host Delaware. University of Pennsylvania was fourth on the 5,932-yard, par-71 course where the scoring average jumped five strokes for round three in windy conditions.
Alexa Popowitz (70-73-78=221) finished hird, and Christina Parsells (75-76-75=226) tied for 15th to lead the Hoyas.
Georgetown was unable to break 300 in any round and finished 16th of 18 in the 2018 NCAA D-1 Austin Regional at University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Tex. Arkansas shattered par each day, firing 26-under 838 to beat runner-up Texas by 11 strokes. The six teams advancing from Austin to nationals were Arkansas, Texas, Auburn, Florida, Baylor and Oklahoma. Scoring conditions were ideal, as 65 players broke par. The course was par 72, measuring 6,341 yards and produced an average 18-hole score of 75.0 strokes.
Jacquelyn Eleey tied for 49th (76-76-74=226) as the Hoyas' low scorer.
Georgetown was the only team to break 300 during a round as the Hoyas easily won the 2018 Big East Conference Championship. Georgetown opened a big first-round lead and cruised to a 20-shot win over runner-up Seton Hall as the Hoyas defending their conference title. Weather was breezy at the par 72, 6,010-yard course, where the average 18-hole score of 79.7 strokes.
The Hoyas' Jacquelyn Eleey repeated as Big East medalist, shooting a 6-over 222 (71-78-73) to win by seven strokes. Christina Parsells tied for second (73-75-81=229), while Ashley Fitzgibbons and Pendleton Bogache tied for ninth at 232.
Georgetown finished 16th in the 2017 NCAA D-I Lubbock Regional, and won the Big East Conference Championship.
Georgetown finished second int 2014, 2015 and 2016 Big East Conference Championship, seventh in 2013, eighth in 2012, fourth in the 2011 and seventh in 2010, third in 2009 and fifth in 2008.
