Jason Enloe was promoted from SMU assistant coach to head coach in August 2014. Enloe competed four years for the Mustangs and returned to SMU in 2012 after a 14-year professional golf career, playing on the PGA/Nationwide Tour, the Canadian Tour, Golden Bear Your and the Adams Tour.

SMU left Conference USA and joined the new American Athletic Conference (The American) on July 1, 2013.

SMU placed third of 14, but 36 strokes behind winner Oklahoma State, in the fall 2018-19 Royal Oaks Intercollegiate at Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas, Tex. The top-ranked Cowboys shot under par the first two rounds and bested runner-up North Carolina State by 32 shots. Arkansas and Pepperdine finished fourth and fifth. The scoring average was 74.9 strokes at the par 70, 7,008-yard course.

Noah Goodwin finished sixth (73-70-67=210) and McClure Meissner ninth (72-71-72=215) to pace the Mustangs.

Competing as an individual, SMU's McClure Meissner tied for 21st (70-74-72=216) in the 2018 NCAA D-1 Norman Regional in Norman, Okla. The average 18-hole score was 73.8 strokes on the apr 72, 7,452-yard course. Players posted 65 sub-par rounds over three days.

Southern Methodist finished with a 4-under 280 to take second in the 2018 American Championship at Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Fla. South Florida finished with a pair of 279s to win its fourth consecutive American title, beating the Mustangs by 20 shots. Central Florida took third, Memphis fourth and Cincinnati fifth. Weather conditions were windy with some rain at the par 71, 7,125-yard course, where the average 18-hole score was 73.7 strokes.

Gray Townsend (72-70-71=213) and McClure Meissner (71-72-70=213) tied for fifth to lead the Mustangs.

Southern Methodist tied for sixth at the 2017 The American Championship.

Due to NCAA Sanctions, SMU was not eligible to compete in the 2016 conference tournament or other post-season play.

Southern Methodist placed 14th but claimed the individual medal at the 2015 NCAA Championship.Bryson Dechambeau was the national medalist with an 8-under par 280, winning by one stroke.

Southern Methodist took the lead after two rounds and settled for a tie for first with Illinois at the 2015 NCAA D-I Noblesville Regional.

Southerh Methodist finished second in the 2015 The American Championship.

Southern Methodist tied for fifth after losing its match play opener at the 2014 NCAA D-I Championship, finished fourth in the NCAA D-I San Antonio Regional, and won the inaugural American Conference Championship.

Southern Methodist just missed a nationals berth by finishing sixth in the 2013 NCAA D-I Fayetteville Regional, andt placed second in the Conference USA Championship.

SMU placed seventh and just missed a nationals berth in the 2012 NCAA D1 East Regional, and tied for fourth place in the Conference USA Championship.

Southern Methodist finished sixth and just missed qualifying for the NCAAs at the 2011 NCAA West Regional.

SMU competed in the NCAA Regionals each year since 2000.



Team Home Course: The state-of-the-art Payne Stewart SMU Golf Training Center at Trinity Forest Golf Club has a 6,700-square foot facility featuring team locker rooms, coaches offices, a conference room, a workout center and kitchen. The Center also includes 70,000 square feet of teeing ground, a 45,000 square-foot putting and chipping green and a challenging nine-hole short course.
