Aaron Ford was named head golf coach in August 2018. He previously was at his alma mater, Northwestern Oklahoma State, where he had served as the women's golf coach since 2015, and became the men's head coach as well as director of golf for the 2017-18 season.
Concordia University of Texas fired the low score of the final round (293) to move into fourth at the 2019 NCAA D-III Championship at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, KY. Illinois Wesleyan posted an opening 287 and held or shared the lead each round, finally claiming victory by three strokes over Huntingdon. Guilford, Concordia U (TX) and Methodist rounded out the top five.
Low scorers for the Tornados were William Kim (71-78-74-73=296), who tied for 15th, Phillip Schmitz (70-79-76-74=299) in 24th, Seger Howell (78-80-75-70=301) in 28th and Ben Balen (73-76-76-77=302) in 32nd. Three of the four rounds were played on the 7,190-yard, par-72 Champion Trace course where the 42-team, 217-player field posted a 78.8 scoring average.
Concordia seized control with a second-round 294 and cruised to victory at the 2019 American Southwest Conference Championship at Comanche Trace in Kerrville, Tex. McMurry, UT-Dallas, LeTourneau and Hardin-Simmons filled out the top five. The nine-team field recorded a 79.3 stroke scoring average in three days of windy conditions on the par-72, 6,988-yard course.
