Greg Allen, women's golf coach at Vanderbilt since 2007, was coach at University of Arizona from 2000-2006. Allen led the UA Wildcats to two Pac-10 Championships and a runner-up finish at the 2002 NCAA Championship led by two future LGPA stars, Lorena Ochoa and Natalie Gulbis. Allen is a 1993 graduate (journalism) from Murray State University focusing on sports. From 1993 to 1998 he worked for the AJGA as a communications director and tournament director. Allen served as assistant men’s coach at University of Texas from 1998-2000.
Vanderbilt University concluded its abbreviated spring 2020 season with a 12th-place finish at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C. Vandy broke 300 in only one of three rounds, and the closing 312 cost a top-10 finish. Wake Forest shot the low team score each day and cruised to a 26-stroke win over runner-up Auburn with Duke, UCLA and Texas filling out the top five in the 17-team tournament. The course played to par 71, 6,290 yards with an average 18-hole score of 76.1 strokes in windy conditions.
The Commodores' Austin Kim (72-72-76=220) tied for 10th, and Louise Yu (72-75-79=226) tied for 43rd.
