Leslie Spalding was named head women's golf coach in August 2011.  She spent the previous four seasons as head coach at Montana State University. Spalding is a Montana native who played her college golf at University of Alabama where she graduated in 1992 (Telecommunications/Film with a minor in Marketing).  Spalding turned professional in 1992 and played ten years on the LPGA Tour from 1995-2005.

San Diego State shot 296-298-295 to place 12th of 18 in the 2019 NCAA D-1 Cle Elum Regional at Tumble Creek Club at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Wash. Southern California led after every round, shooting a 20-under 844 to win the regional by 15 strokes over runner-up Washington. The six teams advancing to nationals from Cle Elum were USC, Washington, Northwestern, Arkansas, San Jose State and Central Florida. The course was par 72, measuring 6,306 yards and producing an average 18-hole score of 75.0 strokes. Weather was good at Tumble Creek, resulting in 62 sub-par rounds over three days.

Sara Kjellker finished 14th (70-73-73=216) and Gioia Carpinelli tied for 28th (76-71-73=220) to top the Aztecs.

San Diego State overcame a tough golf course and a late charge from Nevada to win the 2019 Mountain West Conference Championship at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. The Aztecs ended UNLV's three-year run as MWC champion, surviving a big run by runner-up Nevada during the final round to beat the Wolf Pack by one stroke. Weather was ideal on a tough golf course of par 72, 6,270 yards that yielded an average 18-hole score of 78.4 strokes.

Sara Kjellker tied for second (78-69-72=219) and Fernanda Escauriza was fourth (73-72-76=221) to lead the Aztecs.

San Diego State tied for seventh in the 2018 NCAA D-1 San Francisco Regional, and placed second in the Mountain West Conference Championship.

San Diego State finished 11th in the 2017 NCAA D-I Lubbock Regional, and second in the Mountain West Conference Championship.

San Diego State finished 12th in the 2016 NCAA D-I Stanford Regional, and second in the MWC Championship.

San Diego State placed 11th in the 2015 NCAA D-I St. George Regional, and won the Mountain West Conference Championship.

SDSU claimed 21st at the 2014 NCAA D-I West Regional, and tied for third at the Mountain West Conference Championship.

San Diego State placed fifth in the 2013 Mountain West Conference Championship.

San Diego State tied for 20th at the 2012 NCAA D1 East Regional, and third in the Mountain West Conference Championship.

The Aztecs claimed 17th at the 2011 NCAA West Regional, and fifth in the Mountain West Conference tournament. In 2010, The Aztecs claimed 13th at the NCAA Central Regional, and fifth in the Mountain West tournament.
